Trump’s success is in the eye of the beholder

You would think Donald Trump’s tweeting is starting to catch up with him—at least as far as policy goes. The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals is likely to scrap Trump’s discriminatory travel ban for people from certain countries because Trump actually called it a “Muslim ban.” We don’t discriminate in this country because of religious beliefs.

Trump has called it a Muslim ban in speeches, on twitter and on his web site but says it’s not a ban on Muslims since that’s not the language used in the executive order he signed. Clearly, the intent is to keep Muslims out of the US. But, more importantly, the order is meant to satisfy his base. On that count, he’s already won.

Trump has very few victories and yet his support among his base is holding steady. As far as they’re concerned, he’s following through on his promises, even if the corrupt establishment is getting in his way. He’s already trying to ban Muslims, but the courts are stopping him. He’s trying to build the wall but Congress is in the way. He passed a repeal Obamacare bill last week so at least he’s trying. He’s threatening to pull out of NAFTA or force Canada and Mexico to renegotiate the trade agreement just like he promised.

And for his supporters, the circus surrounding the Trump-Russia investigation is just the media and the left going after him. They don’t have any faith in the media so when he calls it “#fakenews” on twitter, they’re good with that. In their minds, that investigation is just an attempt to discredit Trump.

The media and traditional politicians might see success in terms of legislative victories, but Trump’s base see it in terms of shaking up the establishment. He might not be able to deliver on all his promises but that’s because the establishment is getting in his way. In their minds, they’re getting what they paid for—a man who will shake up the system, unrestricted by conventional norms or political correctness.

He’s the guy they wanted. He’s doing what he promised. And they’ll stand with him to the end. Now, whether they’ll stand with the Republicans he needs to make his policies a reality, that’s another story.

The Fourth Circuit won’t be the final arbitrator of the travel ban. Wanna bet how SCOTUS will rule?

Liberals keep trying to analyze Trump; “This is successful if you wanted this” and “You only like him if you’re a {insert liberal generalization here}”.

But here is what you should be worried about: According to the polls, Trump has lost NONE of his bases so far and has an approval rating from his electorate of nearly 100% (something like 99.84 or so). In comparison, Obama lost nearly 8% of his supporters within his first three months, Bush lost 12%, and Bill lost nearly 44%. As long as you liberals keep chasing your tails trying to figure out how he won, he’s going to do it again because aside from not losing a single supporter, he’s gained support, those on the fence that were swayed by the liberal scare tactics of a Trump Presidency being the end of the world, now seems that’s not the case and have tossed in all of their support behind him.

Truth is, I haven’t seen the democratic party this self destructive since the KKK.

Donald’s base is the most frightening feature of our current politics.

They live in a world without facts, without history, without context, without laws, without tradition, without the United States. They are comfortably numb in a world of allegiance to color, like the Bloods and Crips, and just as dangerous. Their passion for guns far exceeds their comprehension of the structure of our society, our politics or our economy.

Their chants were gibberish. We will never “lock her up” or “build that wall.” While they watch something glittery, a billionaire, sexual predator makes deals with our enemies and gangsters who own him. He sells this country out, and they haven’t noticed. Facts do not impress them. They learn by hard lessons and tragedy. One at a time, they find out that the Affordable Care Act is not what they thought, that their nice neighbor is being sent to Mexico, their jobs are not coming back and the billionaires are taking everything.

They do not see the scope of the big lies. They only feel the betrayal, one event at a time. When their coverage is canceled, they realize they were duped. When their truck is repossessed, they wonder if they were the only one to feel the pain of a stacked economy. More than half of Americans have less than $1,000 to their names. In four years, they won’t have that.

The Republicans are not capable of protecting the health, welfare or security of this country or the people of the United States. Our mortal enemies win when Republican representatives are afraid of that uneducated, angry base enraged because they pander exclusively to global corporations and the oligarchs who fund their campaigns. Donald and his family are enemies of the State, and none dare calls them treasonous.
